What our Guests say:
We would recommend the Osteria del Teatro (for great Italian food), Prime 112 (for the best steaks in town), Barton G (if you like it fancy and funky), and Maison d’Azur (lounge/bar/restaurant – very stylish). You will love it.
Restaurant in Bal Harbour called Carpaccio.
Do not miss dinner at “Casa Tua“, preferably at the garden although it’s quite dark, inside is nice too though and the food is fantastic, great service and ambiance… (and try to get into the bar upstairs which is supposed to be members only – good for celebrity spotting too hehe)
Johnny Rockets at Ocean Drive is a good place for the real American hamburger. Tiramesu on Lincoln Road is a nice restaurant as well. Both restaurants are in South Beach!
Hakkassan was great.. Prime 112 is really good food.. Carpaccio is Italian but it’s great for lunch.
As far as staying in Miami, I did both Delano and Setai..
I love the Setai since the rooms are much more spacious and warm.. Even though I love Delano’s common areas I find the room slightly clinical, I just got back last week. Miami for me is always great.
Touch – photo above – used to be one of my favorite restaurants—funky ambiance. No Italian food, you are in Miami..u must have Cuban at Versailles. Yes, that is Miami, not Miami Beach, but well worth it. Have a ton of fun, great city…
Just got back from South Beach yesterday. You must visit the famous Mango’s on Ocean Drive for at least a drink. It is something to behold…
Smith & Wollensky is the best steakhouse…
In Miami Beach, my favorite restaurant is the Hotel Setai (Asian). In Miami you’ll also find Hakkasan: I don’t know how good is it there, but the original in London is one of my favorites. Nobu and Asia de Cuba should be avoided, as every restaurant along Lincoln Road and Ocean Drive.
On Ocean Drive I went to the Tides and Quinns: the only word that comes to mind is “disgusting”. Also, I am usually very disappointed with burgers in the US (California, New York, and Miami). The meat is not as tasty as in Europe and they use the horrible bun bread: in the UK they often use the superior ciabatta or focaccia bread.
Fun bars: Delano hotel, the rooftop at the Gansevoort, Mondrian, Fontainebleau (avoid the Shore club).
For Breakfast: Chocolate Fashion in Coral Gables
Italian: Il Gabbiano, Casa Tua, Quattro
Cheaper italian: La Sardegna
Nobu & Planet Sushi (for a cheaper sushi option)
Meat: Prime 112 & Capital Grille
Best Paella: La Dorada
Joe’s Stone Crabs
