The Hotel Victor Miami Beach in Ocean Drive
The Hotel Victor Miami Beach in Ocean Drive

Designed by famed architect L. Murray Dixon, the Hotel Victor Miami Beach in Ocean Drive, first opened its doors in 1937 and immediately welcomed celebrities and socialites into its doors. After closing in the mid-1960s, the hotel underwent a $48 million re-imagining and was reopened in 2003 as Hotel Victor. Located next to the Versace mansion on Ocean Drive – The former Casa Casuarina Hotel – the 1937 property completed an expansion that brought its room total to 88 and placed it at the upper end of the luxury boutique market.

Confident that South Beach was ready for something new, the owners selected internationally renowned decorator Jacques Garcia to breathe life into the building, due to his amazing body of work, including private interiors for some of the wealthiest people in the world. Garcia helped develop a seductive sanctuary at Hotel Victor, his first hotel in the Americas.

Originally erected in 1936 as the Victor Hotel, its hallowed halls have played host to illustrious figures, from the enchanting melodies of Frank Sinatra to the iconic presence of Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor. A synthesis of historical grandeur and contemporary sophistication, the hotel underwent a transformative journey under the adept hands of Dixon and Garcia in 2013. It blossomed, reimagining the nexus of the past and present, and in 2014, the doors of Hotel Victor South Beach reopened, inviting guests to a world where history breathes through modern luxury.

Nestled in the iconic, pulsating heart of a vibrant quartier, each corner infused with the eclectic energies of Ocean Drive, the hotel is more than a sanctuary of luxury; it is a narrative weaving through time, having graced the silver screen in epics like ‘The Wolf of Wall Street” and the riveting drama of ‘Ballers.’ Every room, every corridor echoes the whispers of legends, while cradling guests in an ambiance where the illustrious past meets today’s opulence. The Passage Bar, Vue, and Pool area are equipped with an outdoor pool table, a 40s mosaic-tiled pool, artful video projections, and a DJ on selected nights making it the ultimate place to see and be seen. The scene will pulse at night when the area will be transformed into a VIP lounge.

Great place, great staff! Location, Rooms, the pool area has a bar, outdoor shower, restrooms, complimentary water & fruit, and towel service. If you arrive earlier than check-in time, they will secure your luggage and you can go to the pool or beach with chair access & provide towels.

As small as the rooms were they were comfortable. The bed was great. The pillows were wonderful! Very clean room. Christina the bartender at the pool was very good and pleasant. The decor was edgy but inviting! The shower was cool. Like the rain shower and handheld. The pool was cloudy. It could have been cleaner! There was little to no flow with the jet system. When asked for ice there was none. The hotel ran out or does not offer any. How can you make yourself a drink in your room with no ice?! The step from the tub/shower was awkward and steep when stepping in and out. I could see that being a potential hazard for some.
