Good hotel….being bayside has its drawbacks…but the rooms are spacious….pool is great…and on Sundays, it has become the place to be. Overall, Inside Miami Beach offers rooms about 40% cheaper than equivalent hotels located on the beachside on Collins Ave and Ocean Drive. The hotel was nice. The front desk staff and guest services staff were amazing. When we got to the hotel, the front desk supervisor upgraded our room because it was my birthday weekend (This was a nice gesture). Our room was nice and cozy (soft bed and pillows). I liked that our room had a full kitchen and dining area and the view from our room was awesome facing the South Beach area.

What we love
The Mondrian is the only hotel on South Beach facing west, with excellent views at sunset. The automated gift shop, Semi-Automatic, could be from The Jetsons, with gifts up to $5,000 at the touch of a button. The adjustable colors and levels of lighting in the guestrooms. Agua Spa, also designed by Marcel Wanders, exclusively carries products from SJAL. The fitness room has great views of the bay and downtown.

What to know
The (hot) young Euro scene overtakes the pool, so the elderly and body-conscious should beware! On weekends, entry to the hotel’s bar can be rather selective. Though on the water, the hotel does not have direct beach access. The hotel is a 15-minute walk from Ocean Drive and SoBe’s most popular beaches. Internet and valet parking are pricey ($15 and $37 a day, respectively).

The latest Agua Spa in the Mondrian South Beach features 4,000 square feet of Marcel Wanders-designed interiors with six treatment rooms equipped to offer an extensive variety of services. Along with its signature Milk and Honey treatments and private garden-view terrace, Agua at Mondrian is one of the only two spas in the United States to carry products by SJAL.

Blue Kashmir – Saphir Facial
